Overview
Catherine Stanton is a unitary intelligence official in Komodo. She becomes one of the state figures tasked with understanding and containing Basra Kusniqa Camden as Komodo becomes too powerful to ignore.
Role
Catherine works with Thomas Monroe after the Unitary-Mahav peace summit and later manages a makeshift Komodo investigation from her home while the government is under strain. She consults Lisa Vannigan, who reports that Basra asked her to build ship-to-ship microwave weapons, and she advises against symbolic warrants that the state cannot enforce.
During Joel DeSilva’s failed call with Basra, Catherine detects enough from Basra’s comments to realize that Basra killed Monroe. She accuses Basra of sadism and of becoming the gravest threat to the unitary order. DeSilva removes her from the call before Basra rejects settlement and releases the treasury archives.
Catherine is last seen at the Adaline summer palace with DeSilva when Amy Kwan and the Silver Spear arrive. She tries to negotiate, but Kwan has the marines shoot DeSilva, Catherine, and Prince.
