Emor is one of the narrator’s recurring contacts in “Presence.” Emor appears through a projected live conversation and remains connected while both characters mostly scroll in silence.
Role
Emor discusses sharing a grill for surge returns and notices that the narrator has acquired a Presence device. Their conversation shows how social time, possessions, and attention are treated as exchangeable resources in the story’s setting.
After the narrator’s death, the Presence continues the relationship by keeping up with Emor several times a week in Realspace.
