Hudson Yards bombing

Overview

The Hudson Yards bombing is the bombing of a USNS Mercy fundraiser rally in Current Affairs. The bomb is hidden in the lectern where Calvin Munn is about to speak after Vincent Becker’s introduction.

The attack severely injures Calvin, who saves Becker.

Attack And Aftermath

Calvin sees part of a stuffed black backpack through a split seam in the wooden lectern. He quietly tells Becker to walk off the platform, and both men step back before the bomber detonates the device remotely.

Calvin survives with the loss of his right thumb, his left leg at the ankle, and his right leg below the knee. In the hospital, he learns that Becker survived, that Harrison Martingale has been arrested for his RINIC-linked compromise, and that RINIC may be paying restitution for the Mercy attack.
