Overview
Komodo One is the original ship of Komodo in Komodo. It is a former customs cruiser named USV Limitless before Basra Kusniqa Camden, Adrian Ma, and Lawrence Kona buy it at the Alvarado Unitary Impound.
The ship is a large three-story, two-hundred-meter vessel with cargo space, barracks, officer quarters, a mess hall, a staging room, and later a command center. Its condition at purchase is derelict, but its size lets the early company live aboard, renovate, and operate without a planetside headquarters.
Role
Komodo One supports the Scott Fossorius arrest from overhead, travels to Soltero in search of investment, and is used as collateral for a ship equity line of credit. A radiotelemetry array installed by Lawrence turns it into a fugitive-hunting platform. The ship also becomes the scene of early organizational strain, including the lack of a doctor during Miles’s injury and the peacekeeper graduation hazing that injures Linet Delacroix.
As Komodo grows, Komodo One becomes one ship among many, but it remains important. Sonja Shamlin commands it while Basra moves to Komodo Unyielding. Later, Rose Concannon commands or is associated with it as Komodo becomes more militarized. The ship also carries the microwave capability used in the attack on the Lion’s asteroid base.
