Overview
Akimset is the Akimi homeworld and one of the central settings of Komodo. It is an independent Akimi zone granted ethnic sovereignty after the Two-Color War and operates without ordinary unitary checkpoints.
Description
Akimset is first shown through the Makiwa pilgrimage to Mount Aket. Akimi families walk the ten-thousand-stride route in family clusters, receive water and yam paste from priests, camp under the stars, and enter the Akim Aket’s palace near the summit. The palace contains green torchlight, carved scenes of Akimi discovery and refuge, and lower caverns where Basra Kusniqa Camden experiences her vision.
The planet later becomes Komodo’s legal refuge and symbolic center. Shanvi Dumindak’s Akimi status helps justify Komodo’s move into Akimi Free Space, while the Akim Aket’s protection is invoked for Zachary Crowe. By the end of the novel, Mount Aket holds the court of the Komodo Sovereignty, and Basra rules from a gold pyramid inside the palace cave.
