Overview
Komodo Sovereignty is the state that emerges from Komodo near the end of Komodo. It is ruled by Basra Kusniqa Camden from Mount Aket on Akimset and presents itself as a refuge from the collapse of the Democratic System Unitary.
Formation
The Sovereignty’s first visible population comes from Basra’s program-card rendezvous. After Joel DeSilva is killed and the unitary state collapses, program cards given to elite attendees at Basra’s acropolis forum transmit coordinates. Hundreds of wealthy and influential people bring ships to the rendezvous, where Komodo Symposium eventually arrives, requisitions their yachts, assigns clothing and roles, and welcomes them to the wealth of the new state.
The Sovereignty inherits Komodo’s fleets, security systems, labor policies, and symbolic language. It negotiates vassalage arrangements with planetary governors, offers provisional peacekeeper status to local police, uses corvee labor, sorts refugees, and marks its authority with golden dragon symbols and the Komodo Queen’s warnings. Its border is already militarized when the Silver Spear reaches a buoy surrounded by frozen bodies and a plaque threatening death to those who oppose Basra.
The Sovereignty’s final public message is dual. One of Basra’s prepared broadcasts invites people to leave old lives and be reborn. The other, sent in ancient rune across the outer territories, declares her divine command and orders obedience to the Starfallers.
