Overview
Amenity is Calvin Munn’s campaign identity for Proposal 1 in Current Affairs. Proposal 1 is a New York ballot measure promoted by Arthur Sedki and Builders for Proposal 1, and Calvin frames it as a warm, familiar vision of legalizing walkability.
The campaign is Calvin’s first major political design success. It brings him to the attention of Harrison Martingale and helps move him from Sedki Development Group into the New Liberals Institute.
Campaign
Calvin names the campaign Amenity and explains it as a response to fear of change. His visual concept uses fiery sunset tones, children, couples, a corner cafe, and the slogan “More of everything you love.”
Arthur likes the concept, and the Yes on Proposal 1 board accepts the pitch while asking about cost. Proposal 1 passes with 54.1 percent of the vote, making the campaign’s backers wealthier and prompting later debate about whether the measure improved or harmed the state.
