Highly Regarded Television Network, or HRTN, is an afternoon business show on Twitter featuring Jay Béarnaise. Kane works on video for Jay and arranges Ben Etxina’s eventual guest appearance in Homonoid.
The show records at Pod People, a self-service communal podcast studio near Uber headquarters in San Francisco. Remote video entry control leads into a windowless corridor, with the studio visible through glass. A snack table stands inside, and equipment cases pass through a concrete back corridor.
Ben first reaches the studio by posing as a courier with pastries he has ordered himself. Using his middle name, he signs in as Will E. and knocks as recording is ending. Jay mistakes the pastries’ origin in Brittany for a gift from a woman named Brittany Lo. Ben lets the error stand. His attempt to question Jay leads instead to an evening with Kane at The Goblet, paid for on Jay’s card.
After the Hammett recovery operation, Kane invites Ben back for an interview. Jay questions him about the case, but Homonoid’s nondisclosure agreement prevents him naming the company, the model weights and other details. Ben uses the appearance to solicit clients for his newly established investigation business, Mission Critical.
