Overview
Kat and Panda Show was an old joint-vlog project by Katherine Bannington and Amanda Bannington before the events of A Cancellation.
The project predates Amanda’s mature AmandaHere and Susie Sparkles brands. Amanda avoids discussing it publicly because it points back to Katherine, the Bannington family’s private history, and parts of Amanda’s past that do not fit her controlled public identity.
Role in the Story
Maya Wright first confronts Amanda with a 2006 Kat and Panda Show poster at an Encino craft store. Amanda initially treats Maya as a fan but becomes guarded when Maya asks whether Katherine might appear on the channel and alludes to family rumors.
At a Bannington family cookout, Amanda suggests doing something with Katherine again, like their old project or EP. Katherine understands the suggestion as an attempt to bring Kat back out for engagement rather than as genuine reconciliation. The old project becomes one of the routes through which Maya, Katherine, and later Surviving Amanda Bannington force Amanda’s past into public view.
