Overview
Merrick Glowee is a federal Finance Division investigator in Scenebux. He pursues leads around T4 Fund, Enward Capital, Mac Amoolish, and The Filter.
Ben first sees Glowee as an awkward white man of about thirty in a conspicuous trench coat and suit; later he notices Glowee’s tawny hair, cast, short-sleeved field clothes, and aloha shirt after he leaves field work.
Investigation
Glowee first approaches Ben Etxina in Dubai and asks him to wear a wire during his meeting with Gabriel Findhom. Ben refuses. After the Dubai, Glowee continues trying to reach Ben.
In Laos, Glowee follows Ben and Easton Cannonade to Mac Amoolish’s house and again asks Ben to help him get an insider talking, this time specifically about The Filter. After Amoolish is shot, Glowee is wounded during the escape from the attackers.
Later Role
Glowee leaves federal field work after the shooting. He later meets Ben in Daly City and tells him that Amoolish’s ex-lover and the founder behind T4 is Carl Froht, not the billionaire Ben first suspected. He describes The Filter as a secret Froht project with money flowing through biotech, heritage associations, and overseas ties.
Ben later sends a letter to Glowee’s parents’ address in Missoula warning that The Filter is a racially targeted virus in active development at a Korean lab. Glowee’s ultimate fate is not shown.
