Overview
The Filter is Carl Froht’s secret racial-biotechnology project in Scenebux. It is first foreshadowed through a black hourglass-like symbol and later revealed as a viral-editing project intended to cause sterility in populations outside Froht’s selected in-groups.
Earlier Hints
Gabriel Findhom says Monarcha was on the far side of The Filter and treats the lost system as sacred. Merrick Glowee later tries to get Mac Amoolish to talk about The Filter, but Mac is killed before he can explain it.
Glowee eventually tells Ben Etxina that The Filter is a secret Froht project funded through money flows into biotech, heritage associations, and overseas ties.
Revealed Purpose
At Aigai House, Froht describes The Filter as viral editing designed to create sterility in unselected populations while sparing selected ancestries, including people he considers part of the coming race. Lin Jiao argues that this is less harmful than killing and frames it as a reduction of suffering.
Ben survives the meeting by pretending loyalty. He later mails a warning to Glowee saying that The Filter is a racially targeted virus in active development at a Korean lab.
