Overview
Lin Jiao is a geneticist in Scenebux and one of the central links between Ben Etxina and the Aigai-T4 social world. She first meets Ben at Coconut Woman, where she challenges his arguments about nuclear war and tells him he needs purpose.
Ben first reads Lin as Vietnamese or Vietnamese American and describes her with narrow brown eyes, smooth features, and careful grooming; later he notes her long unstyled hair, winged eyeliner, fit build, and tan skin.
Aigai and T4 Connections
Lin identifies the blond biker group around Wigland as Nazi LARPers and helps Ben damage Wigland’s motorcycle. She then brings Ben to an Oakland party connected to Aigai House, names the T4 Fund, and gives him Max Pacifica’s contact information.
Later, Lin says the Young Realists have hired her whole lab team for genomic analysis. She defends her right-wing politics through Catholic, anti-communist, and Schmittian arguments and rejects Ben’s attempt to separate ordinary right-wing politics from fascism.
Relationship with Ben
Lin invites Ben to Edgelands, a retreat at Camp Wendago. They have sex in her tent, and Ben relies on her statement that she has a copper IUD, foregoing a condom. Soon afterward, Tim Gottseed and the Order of Odin remove both of them from Far Camp and take them to Aigai House.
At Aigai House, Lin brings Ben to Carl Froht. Froht reveals that Ben’s semen was saved by Lin and subsequently sequenced. Lin argues that The Filter only causes sterility and urges Ben to forget what he has learned after Froht lets him leave. Her last direct exchange with Ben leaves unresolved whether she slept with him for desire, for Froht’s genetic sampling, or both.
