Overview
Andy Field is Amanda Bannington’s fiance in A Cancellation. He lives with Amanda and Kale Flores at 1387 John L. Vega Road, where he often appears as a frustrated partner inside Amanda’s production-centered household.
Andy is connected to music and performance outside Amanda’s brand. He plays with Gabe Pantoja and The Coattails, and he wants a creative life that is not simply an extension of Amanda’s channels.
Relationship with Amanda
Amanda repeatedly treats Andy as material for jokes, props, and crisis management. Their tensions worsen after a candid photo circulates of Amanda touching Zeke Nakhla at Heather Mayfield’s vigil. In couples therapy, Andy asks for an Andy and Amanda show, while Amanda protects the more commercially useful Amanda/Susie tour plan.
The couple’s Double-A Show sells out but ends badly after Andy ad-libs that he prefers Andy and Susie. In the fight afterward, Amanda shoves him as he tries to retreat; he slips into a door handle and bleeds from his eyebrow. Andy does not formally accuse Amanda of violence, but his black eye later becomes part of Surviving Amanda Bannington.
After the Breakup
Andy leaves after catching Amanda with Brad Miller at their house. He posts a solo vlog saying he will not come on tour, then is threatened by Brad at a hotel after Amanda sends Brad to stop him from posting more.
Later, Andy drinks heavily and meets Katherine Bannington at a bar, where he says Amanda made him feel small. Katherine comforts him but rejects him when he tries to kiss her. Andy’s interview with Sapphire Van Ness deepens Amanda’s public damage by describing his therapy session, his black eye, and his belief that Amanda is not capable of kindness.
