Overview
Arborism is the faith of the mother Netra and father Turis in Calinitia Dreaming. In Calinitia it is embodied by the Loratian Arborist Church, the cathedral, priestly offices, and the sacral categories used by OPS.
The novel presents Arborism as both a genuine old power and a modern institution corrupted into bureaucracy, compulsion, and false prayer.
Corruption and Renewal
Guinevere Hail discovers that modern blank-eyed effigies have redirected prayer toward a false voice. Older statues with intact circular pupils allow her to contact the true Netra.
When Guinevere destroys Macix with godfire, Arbordom begins to wake from the yoke. The event does not erase political war, but it changes the spiritual condition of the church and its followers.
