Overview
Moulsham Community College is a tribunal site in Burn Zone. It stands across Kester Lane and a green from Paul Revere High School, the nearby detention site inside the COFOR-controlled compound.
Layout
The college is vacant and concrete-heavy. Its main tribunal room is Barnam 138 Astronomy Lab, a raked lecture hall with bare walls, pew-like rows, and a central pit where detainees sit at a desk. Lorianna Blackstone presides from a high brutalist pulpit in the place where an astronomy projector has been ripped out, beneath a large domed ceiling that had once been used for star projection.
The room’s layout gives the tribunal a theatrical hierarchy: Blackstone and observing officials sit above, while the accused sits below in the pit. The space is repeatedly described through echoes, hard surfaces, and the absence of ordinary campus life.
Role
Moulsham contains the tribunal room used for Ben Auerbach’s questioning, Carter Clemens’s witness hearing with Walter Bride, Kelly Pearson’s recording reveal, and the final sentencing proceedings. Detainees are moved between the high school detention spaces and the college during questioning.
