Overview

Lorianna Blackstone is an American Reconstruction Government major in Burn Zone. She represents the Coalition in the tribunal investigation of Carter Clemens and the other detainees.

Background

Blackstone is from Atlanta and previously served as a Space Force captain. Scott Hallman remembers meeting her at a 2041 conference while he was assessing space-sabotage operations. In the postwar period, she works within the reconstruction order and says the old constitutional protections do not apply to enemy combatants under the reconstructed constitution.

Tribunal Role

Blackstone conducts the tribunal in Moulsham Community College’s Barnam 138 Astronomy Lab and related detention spaces. She tells Carter that the proceeding is not a court of law and that she may conduct it as she sees fit.

Her questioning reconstructs the Brunn meeting, the domestic nuclear deterrent plan, and the Boston nuclear detonation. She uses Walter Bride as a survivor witness and later reveals the May 28 recording and Ray Bishop’s undercover role.

Blackstone sentences Ben Auerbach, Rupert Brunn, and Kelly Pearson to death for crimes against humanity. She convicts Carter Clemens of negligently failing to prevent crimes against humanity, treating the threats against his family as mitigation and sentencing him to ten years in military prison.
