Overview
Paul Revere High School is a former school converted into a detention and execution site in Burn Zone. It stands across from Moulsham Community College inside a COFOR-controlled area about twenty miles west of Boston city limits.
Layout
The building is dilapidated and unused as a school. Carter Clemens identifies it from old wall text in a janitorial closet, where he is held without a toilet or sink while a flatscreen plays Coalition schoolroom propaganda. The closet has sticky painted brick, concrete flooring, a bucket, and dust Carter associates with the radioactive aftermath of Boston.
The school also contains a gymnasium and locker-room shower area, where Connie Blye and William Laskey force Carter to bathe while Laskey checks radiation levels with a Geiger counter. Other detention spaces include a converted principal’s office with a nurse’s-office bed for Rupert Brunn, a cold radiator room where Ben Auerbach is held, and a handicapped bathroom where Scott Hallman is detained.
The corridors still read as a school space, with indoor lockers, linoleum halls, and multiple doors and junctions that Rupert tries to map while being escorted. The route to questioning goes out to Kester Lane and across the green to Moulsham Community College.
Role
Paul Revere High functions as the detention side of the tribunal compound. Carter’s family is brought to his closet cell, detainees are moved through the hallways for showers and questioning, and guards use controlled glimpses of other prisoners to frighten and disorient them.
At the end of the tribunal proceedings, the school also serves as the execution site. Ben, Kelly Pearson, and Rupert are executed by COFOR firing squad against a wall at Paul Revere High, with Rupert placed under a spotlight mounted on an Oshkosh vehicle.
