Overview
The Boston nuclear detonation is the catastrophic outcome of the domestic nuclear deterrent plan in Burn Zone. A nuclear device detonates in Boston city center on November 10, 2045 shortly before 0800 hours.
Effects
Lorianna Blackstone states that most of the eight hundred thousand victims are instantly vaporized or die soon afterward from their wounds. Walter Bride, a soldier in the 232nd Army Mechanized, survives with third-degree heat and radiation burns and estimates that about sixty thousand U.S. servicepersons are in the burn zone at ignition.
The event becomes the central crime judged by the Coalition tribunals. Ben Auerbach, Kelly Pearson, and Rupert Brunn are sentenced to death for crimes against humanity. Carter Clemens is sentenced for negligently failing to prevent the crime after his family is threatened.
