Overview

The Azalites are an earless religious and ethnic group in Calinitia Dreaming. They appear as club patrons, wealthy financiers, mob-linked figures, ordinary workers such as Sephret, and ritual elders such as the Aksakanit.

Azalite public life is entangled with guilt over the Bipartite War, the scriptural hope of Achora, and intense hostility from many Suatu and Borean characters.

Role

The novel distinguishes ordinary Azalites from the Aksakanit conspiracy. Karz Kystarlik, Beni Teskennen, and Talmin Rafinnet connect Azalite elite power to tainted amogen drops, abductions, and ritual violence.

Sephret’s apostasy shows that Azalite identity is not inherently tied to the elder council’s plan. Sephret helps expose that the true goal is not merely the construction of a holy city but the release of Macix.
